Children's Picture Book 'Some Days We...' Depicts Chronically Ill Parenthood
Chronic illness can affect a lot of major moments in a person’s life, from getting through school to finding methods to manage symptoms while at work. Finding ways to take care of ourselves can be a hard enough task for spoonies — I know I still have not mastered this. Chronically ill parents and other types of caregivers deal with the extra challenge of not only taking care of themselves but caring for others as well.

50 Lessons I've Learned on Life and Disability at 50
For the past year I’ve been talking ad nauseam about turning 50. Petition Demands Justice for Jamarion Robinson, a Black Man With Schizophrenia Killed by Police
On Aug. 5, 2016, Jamarion Robinson, a student athlete diagnosed with schizophrenia, was killed by a task force of police officers in Atlanta. The 26-year-old was shot 76 times. While the official report says Robinson had a gun when officers shot him, additional evidence suggests otherwise. Now advocates, led by Robinson’s mother Monteria, are again calling for justice for Jamarion Robinson.

Dear Piers Morgan: Insisting Disabled Actors Get Cast in Disabled Roles Isn't 'Woke Nonsense'
Monday morning, British anchor Piers Morgan, who is already known for making controversial statements on Twitter, wrote another problematic tweet. According to Morgan, “The ‘woke nonsense’ is demanding that only disabled actors can play disabled characters. That’s actually the opposite of equal opportunity.” Although his comments came from a spat with another Twitter user, the conversation started when he criticized the term “cripping up” — when an able-bodied actor plays a character who is disabled.

What I Mean When I Say 'Fatigue'
Until November 2019, I had no idea what it felt like to wake up and not feel more tired than when you went to bed. In fact, I didn’t know I was supposed to feel refreshed. After 21 years, I finally got some relief after starting a new supplement and finishing my IV medication. I felt this weight lift off my body, and my mornings became much more manageable. This was also a mental win for me because until that time, I was constantly doubting myself.

Depression or anxiety in young adult males, ages 18 or 19, is linked to a 20 percent greater risk of having a heart attack in middle age, according to a new Swedish study from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2020.The link can be partly explained by poorer stress resilience and lower physical fitness among teens with mental disorders.“Be vigilant and look for signs of stress, depression or anxiety that is beyond the normal teenage angst: seek help if there seems to be a persistent problem — telephone helplines may be particularly helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said study author Dr.
