Having cerebral palsy (CP) means a lot of things. For me, it means having trouble walking and unsteady balance, experiencing anxiety because of bullying, being at risk of falling, and feeling misunderstood because I truly “don’t fit the mold.” Cerebral palsy also involves having a higher risk for scoliosis and going through precocious puberty.
I myself have had to deal with precocious puberty — which means I went through puberty much earlier than average. I was so young when my hormones “woke up” that I didn’t even realize that my puberty was different from how it was “supposed” to be.
I was 3 years old, which is extremely young, especially because for girls, puberty usually happens between 8 and 13 years old.
