What 21 Years of Life With Epilepsy Mean to Me

I turn 21 years old this year. That is 21 years of living with epilepsy. I am open about my epilepsy because I want people to understand that epilepsy just does not go away.

It is part of me, and my experiences have been a part of shaping me into who I have become. Turning 21 is a huge milestone for me and I am proud of how far I’ve come.

I think people are nervous to ask me questions about my experience and that makes it hard for people to really get to know me.
